Jimmy Kimmel ignored the resignation of Eric Swalwell.
Swalwell is facing allegations of sexual assault.
Kimmel bashed Trump instead.
Breitbart further pointed out that Eric Swalwell announced he was running for Governor on Kimmel’s show.
TV host Jimmy Kimmel failed to mention anything about former Rep. Eric Swalwell during Monday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, even though the late-night ABC show was the launch site of the disgraced Democrat’s gubernatorial campaign.
On Monday, Kimmel ignored the news of Swalwell suspending his California campaign and resigning from his congressional seat in response to sexual assault allegations — but took plenty of airtime to bash President Donald Trump.
…
While trashing the president, however, Kimmel failed to mention anything about Swalwell, who on Monday announced he was resigning from Congress, as well as suspending his gubernatorial campaign, once several women accused him of unwanted advances — touching, sexting, and even drunken, non-consensual sex.
Swalwell resigned from Congress on Monday.
He denies the allegations against him.
Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell announced Monday he planned to resign from Congress following explosive allegations of sexual misconduct against him.
The announcement from the California Democrat comes as he faced a just-announced House ethics investigation and mounting pressure on both sides of the aisle to step down. Swalwell, who has denied the allegations, had already suspended his California gubernatorial bid — though that did not tamp down the calls that he leave his job. The congressman was also confronting the prospect of a vote on the House floor to expel him.
“Expelling anyone in Congress without due process, within days of an allegation being made, is wrong,” Swalwell said in a statement posted to X. “But it’s also wrong for my constituents to have me distracted from my duties. Therefore, I plan to resign my seat in Congress.”
Two of his accusers said they feel vindicated now that Swalwell will be resigning.
Two women who accused Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) of sexual misconduct said in an interview with CBS News released on Tuesday that they feel “vindicated” that he will resign from Congress and that he has suspended his California gubernatorial bid.
Ally Sammarco, who shared her story with CNN, which included detailed accusations toward Swalwell, said the lawmaker was “pushed into a corner, essentially, because they were planning to expel him,” referring to congressional calls to expel Swalwell.
“But I also felt very vindicated that he realized it was over for him,” Sammarco told CBS News.
