Democrats are not happy that Rep. Jasmine Crockett is running for Senate in Texas.

According to Axios, some House Democrats are “infuriated” by her running.

One House Democrat said,”she ain’t winning a general in Texas.”

Axios reported:

Rep. Jasmine Crockett has left some of her fellow House Democrats infuriated after launching a bid for U.S. Senate in Texas.

Why it matters: Many in the party fear the anti-Trump firebrand will alienate swing voters and drag down Democrats in the state if she clinches the nomination — including in several key House races that could decide control of the lower chamber.

“She might win a primary, but she ain’t winning a general in Texas,” said a senior House Democrat who, like others quoted in this story, spoke on the condition of anonymity to offer candid thoughts about a colleague.

“It’s concerning for [swing] districts … I think it’s a bad decision,” said a second House Democrat.

Democrats view Texas as a crucial part of their effort to regain control of the Senate.

The Hill reported:

Democrats see the contest as integral to their efforts to flip the Senate next year, which they already acknowledge will be a challenge. And some fear the move by Crockett, a popular but controversial figure within her party, could make the task even harder in a state President Trump won by double digits last fall.

Trump handily defeated former Vice President Kamala Harris in Texas last year, and Democrats have been repeatedly disappointed in their efforts to turn the state blue in previous cycles. Nonetheless, they feel hopeful entering the midterms that a vicious GOP primary could benefit them. Cornyn is facing challenges from state Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) and Rep. Wesley Hunt (R-Texas), and polling suggests the primary could head to a runoff.

Even Democrats know she is a bad candidate.
